'Cherished' car is covered up

It's in the news (at least our news) again.  The Vauxhall Viva parked outside the Empire Neath for the last five years, to stop anyone else parking there, has now been covered up by the demolition contactors.   

It is alleged that the car may become a tourist attraction of the future.  Many residents think that the town of Neath has much in common with this car.  Now we wonder what can that be?
