Reader gives views about Neath

Reader compares Neath with the old car parked outside the Empire

On our Readers' Letters page, a reader compares Neath with the car that has been outside the entrance of the Neath Empire for the past 5 years - a car that is only fit for the scrap heap.   Do you agree with these views?
All councillors should take heed of what people think and say.
The NPT councillors for this patch are pictured below:-

Most councillors take a pride in the area they represent, no doubt the councillors pictured are as concerned about the car eye sore like other residents.  For all we know, they may be working on the problem.   We would certainly like to know if they are?
The big question is: 'Will the car go before the Empire does?'    Oh yes, we would like to know if these councillors would like to see the Empire remain as an entertainment or community centre - and do they really care for the needs of the residents they represent?

On the brighter side
In an effort to make our reporting balanced, we feel we must draw attention to another reader's letter, which says that it is the people who matter - the people make a community.   We agree that positive thinking counts - but don't leave it to the other person, because the other person may be leaving it to you!

Cllr Peter Rees, who also writes on our Readers' Letters page, also looks on the bright side, saying that we should not knock Neath but have a positive outlook.   He makes a valid point, however, no society is perfect and what he says brings to mind a saying by an old master craftsman:  "A thing is not good, when it can be better."
