Wise Liberal Words

Wise Liberal words - plain common sense

In a letter to this website Frank Little (left) offers some words of advice for the new community council at Blaenhoddan.  He recaps and says that the first year of the previous administration the council tore itself apart in a power struggle.   He says that the new council should put the past behind them and not resurrect old differences.

It is a strange thing, all the community councillors we have spoken to as individuals have said that politics should NOT come into community councils - yet, when in a group they all react differently and follow the leader.   If only all councillors would forget about their political party and vote on issues in a way that would benefit the community.   All should vote their own way - even it means a totally new approach for the future.    The year 2012 can be a new beginning - many think that Frank Little is absolutely right in what he says.

Having said this, we must say that Lyn Williams (Readers Letters) has a different view and replies to the letter sent in by Frank Little.   The point being made by Lyn Williams is that Plaid Cymru wanted to sort out the finances of BCC that would have very likely prevented the recent 20% (rounded) precept increase - but were prevented from doing so by Labour reversing a decision that they themselves had previously agreed to.
