Neath is waking up

Empire Wake Up Call

The purchase of the Empire Neath freehold by Coastal Housing to build 12 flats for social housing has been a wake up call for many groups and clubs in Neath.   It is only now that people are beginning to see the potential of the building - especially after the letter sent in by Andrew Jenkins when he quotes a report in a national newspaper about a similar building in Wakefield being taken over by a co-operative group of prospective users.   If it can be done in Wakefield, it can be done in Neath.

IF our councillors are proud of Neath they should reconsider the future of this building.

At the very least, interested bodies in Neath should be allowed to consider the options before demolition takes place - after that it will be too late.

See below for the all party petition set up by Cllr. Tony Wyn-Jones.
