Thanks for your letters - we are going to expand

Because of the high volume of letters, some are going into the archive mode (where you can only see the headings) sooner than we and our readers would like.  We are therefore asking our hosting service to lengthen the time letters are visible in their full form.    It may be a while before this happens.
We are also creating a READERS FOLLOW UP page where readers can post items  relating to letters - so we suggest everyone looks at this.   Political canvassing of a direct nature will be excluded.

LATE EXTRA   Many will be interested to know that we had a record number of viewers yesterday (26.3.12).  It seems that letters are certainly adding to the interest of the website - and we are pleased about that.
