Reports from Councillors

 Area Reports

As this website represents NO political party, we invite ALL councillors to report on their patch (that is, news reports not relating to party politics).

Only two councillors have taken up this offer and both are from Plaid Cymru who say they care for the community and put residents before politics.   Both are aware that this is a community website and know that our aim is to inform residents about what is going on around them.
We would like as much balanced reporting as possible, as we once said to a critic:  "We can only open doors, it is for others to walk through them."   Other parties please note.

Cllr.Janice Dudley Reports:

CWMCLYDACH DAM.

Prior to Christmas I notified you of the devastating problems that were affecting our much loved Pond, and the hard work that the Bryncoch Environment Group had carried out in order to stop the main banks of the dam from disappearing in to the river.

Due to pressure being put on the Council to take responsibility and after involving as many agencies as possible for help, from the Bryncoch Environment group, concerned residents and the three Plaid Cymru Councillors, I am pleased to give the latest update.

The Council requested a specialist contractor to discuss possible remedial measures which could be undertaken, the cost could be around £70,000. We were in the process of taking it to full Council but we are pleased to say that the Environment Agency has now taken responsibility for it.

This was such a beautiful place and hope with their care it will soon return to its natural beauty.

Once again I would like to thank Jeff and Phill from Bryncoch Environment Group for giving so much of their time and energy, because if they had not worked so hard  we would have lost that much loved Pond  for future Generations to come.
The Environment Agency wish to register it as a large Reservoir, unfortunately it could be some time before any work is seen to be carried out as it is a lengthy process.

WAUNCEIRCH BUS?

After lobbying hard to reinstate the Waunceirch Bus Service, I was promised that the Waunceirch bus would be reinstated after Christmas on a trial period, unfortunately I have received a letter from the Head of Transport stating this will not materialised due to a 30%cut in funding, never the less I am not leaving it there, I have a petition going around therefore if you want this service back please support me in the fight.

Ed note   We wish to thank Cllr Dudley for the above reports (which also appears on her website: www.janicedudley.co.uk ) and for putting residents before any political party.   Feedback like this hopefully avoids credit being taken by others who are often tempted to capitalise on achievements already done or something that is already in the pipeline.    Those who know and trust their councillors will be wise to any false claims or statements made by those who have no track record in an area they may refer to.

The website: www.bryncochsouth.co.uk is really where comparisions should be made as we would like to think that this website is above politics - as we hope we have made clear on more than one occasion.
