A reader has sent in this photo after walking past the Empire Neath.   It shows an unusual view of the main entrance of the building.  In the days of the cinema, queues formed in the area of the pictured car.

Ironically, before the Empire was built in 1925, it was the site of a garage owned by the Hedge family.

Another reader has written in (see READERS LETTERS) to tell us what happened when a car was parked on a driveway in Pontarddlais.

Councillor follows up   Cllr Tony Wyn-Jones says that the scene outside the Empire makes Neath look like a slum.   He is the first councillor to respond and take an open interest in this matter.   He is waiting for a reply to his correspndence to find out what is really happening.
No doubt other councillors are concerned about this but perhaps are afraid to speak out - unlike Cllr Wyn-Jones.
