Councillor's concern over planning ruling for flat cars
A much respected councillor on the planning committee of NPT Council has expressed concern that the number of proposed flats at the Neath Empire building could be restricted by requirements for car parking spaces - stating that two car parking spaces are required for each flat.
WE SAY that in the case of sheltered home flats in a town area only spaces for short term visiting should be considered. Elderly tenants however, may have need for the transport shown below - this could certainly be taken into consideration. The scooters pictured below take up far less parking space than a car
Luxury flats like the ones built in Sketty,Swansea, would compliment the area and offer a much needed solution to elderly residents who are currently occupying houses that could accommodate large families.
Careful forward planning by NPT council could benefit the community as a whole - especially if the Empire building had a community entertainment centre on the ground floor.
