Awards at Dyffryn Clydach

Cllr Martyn Peters tells us that this year's  annual citizen of the year awards will be presented to two ladies who have lived in the Dyffryn Clydach area for over 40 years. 

The awards will be presented at the Longford Memorial Community Centre at 7:00pm on Wednesday, 14th December 2011 when seasonal refreshments will be available.

Similar awards were started by Blaenhonddan Community Council in 2008 when Cllr.Peters served on that council.   We have have no reports of anything of this nature since then from any Blaenhonddan councillor.

Litter Conscious Community
Cllr.Peters says that he is very proud of the 40 litter pickers in his area.  Between the rubbish skip service and the litter pickers, he claims that over 60 tons of rubbish has been removed from the area during the past year.   Over in Bryncoch South a similar word of praise must go to the Bryncoch Enviroment Group who also have active litter pickers.    To keep their work to a minimum, we ask everyone to be more conscious about litter - and find a bin to put it in.
