What's in a name?
When is a Radio Station not called one?
.......... When it is XS
Our editorial team wish it to be known that they are grateful for the response they have had from XS
We said from the start that it appeared to be an usual set up with some Neath councillors claiming they knew nothing about it. Now it all seems clearer.
The Technical Director of XS writes:
"The station, formerly Afan FM, is re-branded "XS Wales" as from 11 January 2011. The terms "radio" and "fm" are purposely excluded from the identity."
However, it must be made clear the above is taken out of context. The full statement about XS can be read by clicking on the link below. We hope that this clarifies the position of XS broadcasting in the community.
The good thing about our reporting is that many hundreds (thousands?) now know more about XS and their objectives than ever before.
We also feel sure that the Technical Director of XS would be pleased to consider the older generation of Neath IF it were made clear that there is a gap in the content coverage provided by other radio stations covering the area.
