Neath fair disappoints

Traders are disappointed with Neath Street Fair

Neath's annual street fair (7th-10th September 2011) disapponted traders - and the weather was just one factor.
One trader said he was paying £20 per foot per day and was doubtful if he would return next year, stating that he had a stall in Green Street for the past 20 years.

We looked at the charges on the NPT website and this is what we found:-

Charges
The Town Centre is divided into four charging zones :- see plan (available in the download section below). Stalls are charged on a linear metre (linear foot) basis and in addition to the stall charge, a service charge payment is levied as follows, to cover the electricity supply to each stall:-
  • Catering units @ £32.80 per linear metre  (£10 per linear foot)
  • Non Catering traders @ £16.40 per linear metre (£5 per linear foot)
For example, a Zone 1 pitch with a 3.048m linear metre frontage (10ft linear frontage) would be charged at £260 inclusive of service charge (non catering) for the four day event.
We can confirm that the number of traders appeared less than last year.  It is acknowledged that the economic climate may also have a bearing on trading results.
