Vision for Empire
Here is something for Neath Councillors to think about
The action group for the Plaza Cinema in Port Talbot (owned by the council) have come up with the following suggestions for its use:-
• Using it as a central hub for the performing arts and a cultural centre to include, for example, a cafe bar and rooms for a dance school, as there is no suitable venue for local dance groups to practice;
• Using it as a venue for bands to perform and attract visitors from other towns;
• Using it for rehearsals for dance groups/theatre groups who currently have nowhere to practice and perform;
• Following the model of the Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff;
• Providing an entertainment area for adults with disabilities
Why not apply the same positive thoughts to the Empire Cinema Neath?
