Council with no vision

Are councillors to blame for shops closing in Neath?

There is no doubt about it - car parking charges in Neath are driving people out of town to shopping centres where parking is free.

Charges are even being made to disabled drivers who have free parking facilities in other towns.

Visitiors to Neath are of the opinion that Neath Port Talbot CB Council are a money grabbing crowd - and elected councillors are accused of allowing them to behave this way.

Where is their vision?  Don't they want Neath to thrive?

We urge residents to vote for councillors who support free parking.  We pay enough council tax (allegedly one of the highest in Wales) without being charged to shop in our town.

Neath will not thrive unless there is a visionary approach to the parking and transport systems.

It is time to look to the future.

NOTE   Burton's have just closed their store in Neath after over 75 years of trading.  Are more to follow?

A store in Queen Street is closing because the owner states that the council tax is far higher than his store in Bridgend.

A hair dressing saloon in Queen Street is forced to raise its prices in May because of council tax charges.
