PACT Meeting Conflict

The PACT meeting at the South Bryncoch Community Centre on 20th January 2011, was almost like a community council meeting - councillors were there in force!

This was because residents at the last meeting expressed their concern about the lack of community councillors attending PACT meetings.  In fact, it was made a priority issue that the Clerk of the council be informed of their concerns.

It was not known at the time that Mrs Mavis Hewitt, the clerk, had called a meeting of councillors at Cadoxton Community Centre on the very same night of the PACT meeting to discuss an employee issue.

A number of councillors at the South Bryncoch January meeting did not appear to support their clerk be saying that in the past they were not made aware of the dates of PACT meetings.   The Police present stated that the council clerk was always informed.

It should be noted that the dates of PACT meetings are shown on notices in local Post Offices and local shops.   Dates are also give on several websites, including:
