Neath Fire Station's Bad Location

The worst winter weather this century has put in doubt the wisdom of putting Neath's Fire Station on Cimla Hill.

Bad weather was considered during the planning period, but it was dismissed at the time.

The long range weather forecast indicates that next winter will be even worse and the one in 2012 really traumatic.   None of the younger generation will remember the town's fire station in Angel Street - a site in the town centre, with no hill to worry about.

Thought should be given to keeping one fire appliance in the town in view of winters yet to come.   Councillors - take note.
