Councillor Resigns

 Another Community Councillor Resigns

Cllr. Tony Wyn-Jones (left) has resigned from Blaenhonddan Community Council.   He claims it is for personal reasons.  However, he says he will remain as a County Borough Councillor for Neath-Port Talbot.

We have now lost count of the number of community councillors who have resigned since the elections in May 2008 - the number must surely exceed ten.   They have been replaced by unelected people.   Many residents have questioned the current political balance of the council and if it is as democratic as it should be?

Unlike County Borough Councillors, those on the Community Council are not paid for their services and get no allowance for expenses.

A message from Cllr. Tony Wyn-Jones appears on our letter page.
