Will someone be spiked?

Concern Over Playing Field Fence - Is Someone Going To Get Killed?

Several Blaenhonddan Community Councillors have expressed concern about youngsters (and adults) jumping over the boundary fence near the Tesco Express Store at South Bryncoch.   It was alleged that some are taking a short cut to the shops.

The Tesco store manager said he fears that someone is going to fall on the fence spikes and get killed.

It can be revealed that Cllr. Tony Wyn-Jones has looked at the area and possibility of a short-cut path from the shops to Fernlea Park Road.

If this were done now, Waterstones Homes could make the path whilst they are still on site and without cost to the Council - as the path would also benefit their development.

Both the owner of Piper's Fish Bar and the manager of Tesco think that it is a good idea to have the path that would benefit their business.   It would also benefit the environment by reducing road traffic to the shops, with residents using the path instead of motoring around the new housing site.

The path would benefit Waterstone, the developers, as it would help to keep their site more select and private.

It is now up to the Council to act before someone gets killed.
