Objectors Sign Petition

1,000 objections add up to only 1

Although over 1,000 residents have signed a petition against having a foreign take away shop near the Tesco Express store at Dwr-y-Felin Road, Waunceirch, it appears that it will be unfairly classified as only one objection.

It seems that individual objections must be made for any issue to be noticed by the local planning authorities. The petition, in effect, states that no other A3 shop should be considered for the Waunceirch shopping complex.  The classification relates to take-away food shops.

The existing shops opened with that understanding but they are now concerned about a possible application for a change of use.   The manager at the Tesco store also agrees to the objection in question.

Two councillors covering the area also support the objection to any possible change of use.  As previously stated, Cllr. Tony Wyn-Jones said that any A3 store would open over his dead body.
