1970 AEC Mercury Ergonimic HCB-Angus PL Scale: 1:50 -- Cleveland County Fire Brigade, UK -- Bodywork and Equipment by HCB-Angus of Southampton. Originally this pump was equipped with one long wooden extension ladder and two short wooden extension ladders. It was re-equiped around 1977 with a (then) modern Angus 464 45’ (13.7m) ladder, a roof ladder and first floor ladders. Originally purchased by Teeside Fire Brigade in 1970. 1970 Citroen T46 FTP Scale: 1:57 -- T46 FTP (Fourgon Pompe Tonne) -- Sapeurs Pompiers du Cravant, Yonne Province of France -- This Fourgon Pompe Tonne (FTP, Pump Tanker Van) was built by Heulez using Cotroen’s T46 Chassis and ‘Advanced Cab’. The Fire Package was supplied by Drouville. The appliance could carry 12 firefighters, 2,500 litres of water and pump at 1,000 l/m using a CA type 60 centrifugal pump. It carried 1 portable hose reel with 80 metres of 22mm hose, 200 m of 45mm hose, 600m of 70mm hose, 4 100mm hard suction hose sections, 2 65/18 nozzles, 4 40/14 nozzles, an extension ladder and a hook. If the rear seat was removed it could also be fitted with either a MPP30 portable pump, a MPE60 Pump, a high-pressure PP3.30 pump or a stretcher. This appliance spent most of it’s working life at the Cravant Fire Station in the Yonne Province of France. The rear blue lamp was a retro fit by the firefighters themselves. The huge water tank made it particularly useful in rural stations where no hydrants were available. It could deploy a significant amount of water immediately while an other source was being located. -- Del Prado

1971 AEC Mercury TGM Ergomatic Pump Scale: 1:50 -- Hong Kong Fire Services Department (Central), Hong Kong -- Fitted with a 50’ Bayley wheeled escape, 1200l water tank and front mounted winch. The Ergonomic Cab made it’s first appearance on a fire appliance in 1967 and using the Mercury TGM chassis, totalled 100 before it came to and end in 1974. 20 of these were Merryweather TLs, 10 were specials, 4 HPs and the rest pumps of various sorts. -- Corgi 21802 (Upgraded wit accurate ladders and decals)

1972 Ford Transit Rescue Support Vehicle Scale: 1:50 -- Avon Fire Brigade -- Rescue Support Vehicle (RSV), carrying additional rescue equipment. In service from 1972-1980. Bought originally in 1972 by Somerset Fire Brigade, it was transferred when Avon Fire Brigade was formed with the creation of the new Avon County. 1972 VW 181 Scale: 1:43 -- Nuewied Fire Dept, Germany -- 1600cc 4 cylinder 46hp petrol engine, front mounted rear wheel drive. Maximum speed 70 mph (112 kph). The 181 was built as a stopgap while the so-called Euro Jeep was being developed (it never went into production). Built primarily for the German Army as a general purpose vehicle it was based on the VW Beetle. It had limited off-road capability but was cheap to build and very reliable. Manufacture started in 1969 and ran to 1971 in Germany when manufacture was transferred to Mexico and stopped in 1975. Seagrave was founded in 1881 by Fred Seagrave, a carpenter, in Detroit, Michigan. He first developed a ladder truck which in turn led to other appliances. 1977 Zill 40 (131) 45A Pump Scale: 1:43 -- Fire Protection Department, USSR -- The Zill 40 was the most widely used pumper throughout the Eastern Bloc and many other countries that the USSR influenced. It was a rugged and reliable truck designed for fire fighting, it had a rear mounted 450 gpm PN 40 KF pump, 600 gallon water tank, 40 gallons of foam agent, 3 section ladder and 2310' of hose. --
