1952 Dennis F12 Pump Escape Scale: 1:50 -- Belfast Fire Brigade, N. Ireland. -- Like it’s almost identical sister, the F7, the F12 was powered by a Rolls Royce B80 MkX petrol engine, a 4-speed manual gearbox, a Dennis No. 3 pump, two power take-offs and a first-aid pump. The F series were famed for their acceleration 0-60mph in 45 seconds for the F7 and F12. Fitted with a 50’ Bailey Wheeled Escape Ladder. The F12 had a centre mounted pump accessable from either side as opposed to a rear mounted pump of the F7. Bought by the BFB in the early 50’s it survived the amalgamation of the BFB and the Northern Ireland Fire Authority into the Northern Ireland Fire Brigade and was still in service in mid 60’s. For many “baby boomers” this is the stereotypical fire engine. This model has the original plastic escape replaced by the more authentic ‘Fire Brigade Models’ die-cast Bayley Escape. -- Corgi CC13008 (Upgrade with accurate ladders and decals)

1952 Büssing 8000 S13/Magirus TL Scale: 1:25 -- Karlsruhe, Germany -- The Büssing 8000 chassis was updated in 1952 to accommodate the more powerful 180 hp six cylinder diesel engine.
