This year's Holiday Fours was bathed in glorious sunshine for most of the first day's play.

As usual there was a good crowd of spectators which built up as the tournament progressed into the afternoon. Most players came in greys and whites, with a number of teams entering the spirit of the event in casual clothing (like the original holidaymakers event).  However, the smartest team award of the first round had to go to the Black Abbot.

There was plenty of good bowling to see for the spectators and one couple John and Mary Smith had come to watch all the way from the south west of Scotland. John is a Gable Ender born and bred, however, his wife Mary from the west coast lured him away many years ago. They were very impressed with the day's event.
