Sixteen mixed pairs competed for the 2010 Keith Trophy last Saturday, 19th June.

In this two bowl, four section event the winners of each section go through to a knockout semi-final. All games are seven ends and are very competitive indeed, although I am sure people play for the fun of it.

The winners of the four sections were as follows:

Peggy Henderson and Willie Pirie

Mina Robb and Ronnie Murray

Margaret McCallum and Dennis Machir

Liz Pirie and Bill Rodger

The two semi-finals were very close affairs, both 7 - 6, with Peggy and Willie needing an extra end to dispose of Mina and Ronnie.

In the final Peggy and Willie got off to a great start going into a 6-0 lead after three ends, but Margaret and Dennis hit back in the fourth and fifth ends with four shots to bring the game much closer. Unfortunately, they couldnt sustain it and Peggy and Willie scored three shots in the last two ends to run out worthy winners 9 -4.
