The 2010 Hope Paton season started on Saturday 17th April when 38 members played the annual President v Vice President match in nice sunny bowling weather, although not as warm as last year.
The day was enjoyed by all who took part with the first Jack being delivered by Lady President, Frances Stott, who was ably assisted by Club President, Brian Mackie.
Sadly the President’s side went down by 84 – 38 shots in the opening annual fixture. Brian is sure that it is a dyslexic thirty eight. The first sweepie winners of the season were Gordon Hurst, Mina Robb and John Dempsey (skip).
Due to league commitments the weekly Sweepie Night may vary, so keep your eye on the notice board for the first one, look out your bowling gear if you haven't yet done so, and come along.
The first Angus Seniors match is on Tuesday 20th April at 2pm versus Boyle Park at the Hopey.
All players should meet at the clubrooms by 1.45pm. Come along and support the club and get a great cup of tea as well.
Don't forget that the first COFFEE MORNING of the season is this Saturday, April 24th at 10 am. in the Old Church Hall. There will be all the usual stalls, including homebakes, cake and candy, bottle stall, bric-a-brac and many more.We are still looking for prizes for the raffle, and any other contributions you may wish to donate.
