Highways & Environment Committee

The Highways and Environment Committee meets bi-monthly and are responsible for: -

• Maintenance of Public Open Spaces - Pocket Park, Millennium Garden, Pound, Registered Common land (The Cross & Adjacent Village Hall) and other open spaces owned by the Parish Council.
• Inspection and maintenance of Parish Council owned trees.
• Parish Council’s Street Lights.
• Maintenance and Provision of Street Furniture: - Benches, Rubbish and Dog Litter Bins
• Maintenance and Provision of Bus Shelters

The following representatives report to the committee.

• Highways Representative
• Pocket Park Representative
• Millennium Garden Representative
• Landfill Site Representative
• Village Hall Representative
• Brixworth Centre Representative
• Library/Community Representative
• Parish Path Warden
• Parish Tree Warden

The Committee may consider matters, which are the responsibility of other Local Authorities for reporting purposes.

• Street Lighting
• Waste management
• Grass cutting of verges
• Footpaths, Right of Ways and Bridleways
• Highways – ie. Road surfacing, storm drains etc
• Street signage
• Parish Speeding Poster Boards
