BRIXWORTH PARISH COUNCIL

Welcome to Brixworth Parish Council’s website!

Situated near to Northampton we are a thriving and diverse community, home for around 5500  people.
Beautiful, mellow-stone built Northamptonshire cottages, some thatched, mingle with Victorian terraces with the inevitable modern estates pushing our boundaries into the countryside.

We have our school, three good pubs for all tastes, some with accommodation and a well used Village Hall and Community Centres. Our three recreation grounds are home to ever-growing numbers of sports players.  At the last count there were over 40 clubs and organisations in the area, some of which the Parish Council is proud to encourage financially.

Yet there is also a thrusting modern edge to our village, notably our friends at  Mercedes Benz High Performance engines, where they manufacture the world famous  Formula One racing engines among others.

Yet, of our buildings, the jewel in our crown must be our ancient parish church high on a hill overlooking our village, its soaring spire visible for miles around. Built almost 1400 years it is said to be one of the finest Saxon churches in Europe, and deservedly so.

Brixworth - small enough to be a village, large enough to serve people’s day to day needs – we even have a  library, shops and our own fire station. And yet only minutes from our bustling centre lies the beautiful rolling Northamptonshire countryside we should never take for granted.  We adapt to the new over the years but are deeply protective and proud of the heritage of our home village.

Brixworth – truly a sparkling gem in Northamptonshire – the County of squires and spires.
