Recreation & Amenities Committee

The Recreation and Amenity Committee meets bi-monthly with members of the local sports clubs that use the sports facilities.

The Committee is responsible for the general maintenance and any future development of St David’s Recreation Ground, Spratton Road Recreation Ground and the Ashway Playing Field.

Spratton Road Recreation Ground is found along Spratton Road near Woodsfield. It is a small playing field with an enclosed pre-school play area, kicking wall, swings and picnic benches.

St David’s Recreation Ground is located off Froxhill Crescent, opposite the Primary School. The facilities include senior and junior football pitches, a cricket square, a playground designed for 6-12 year olds, a basket ball area ,a tennis court and car park. There is also the Central Sports Pavilion, which is run by the Central Sports Committee.

The Ashway Playing Field is accessed from Eastfield Road, Lesson Road, Brackenborough, Iron Pikes and the Ashway. The facilities include changing rooms, car park, junior and senior football pitches and play equipment for 10-14 year olds.
