In the first half Bramham found themselves playing into a headwind and would have been happy to turn around all square particularly when they found themselves 1 down after 20 minutes. Good work down the right flank involving Jones, Carrier and Kitchen culminated in a low drive into the 6 yard box which resulted in an own goal as boro' desperately tried to clear. Just before the interval Bramham went ahead when Wright was sent away by a superb Plews pass and the srtiker wasted no time in placing his low drive past the keper to give Bramham a 2-1 lead at the interval. Bramham might have been expected to take this game away from their hosts but the match was turned on its head when inexplicably boro were awarded a penalty as Jacklyn was sheparding the ball out of play under a challenge. I know this was not a penalty as I was closer to it than anyone else in Knaresborough on the night!! 10 minutes later and the home side were ahead following a fine move down the right flank. This was a lead they were to hold onto as Bramham struggled to string their passing game together and missed several good chances Referees have a difficult job to do and they are rarely mentioned on these pages, but I have made a nexception on this occassion as everyone is entitled to a bad game. This is not to take anything away from Knaresborough who were the better team on the night and deserved their win.
