Match Reports 2nd X1

Pannal Sports Reserves 1 v Bramham Reserves 2

Bramham moved into the second round of the Alverton Trophy with a well deserved 2 - 1 victory at Pannal.

The first half was pretty much all Bramham who had a goal ruled out for offside, with keeper Martin Plews a virtual spectator up until the last ten minutes.

The second half sprung the hosts into action with some dogged defending from Bramham, who always looked a threat on the counter. However Pannal broke the deadlock in the 70th minute when a free kick wasn't dealt with & the ball ended up in the net.

Within five minutes Bramham were level, when a great through ball from Paul Roberts was latched onto by Nick Jacklyn who coolly put it past the home keeper. This spurred Bramham on, & in the last ten minutes when it looked like the game was moving into extra time, Paul Bowden scored with a neat finish.

After that Jacklyn hit the post which would have been the icing on the cake, but a great performance from all 12 players on show enabled their passage to the next round, & hopefully this will kick-start the season on what has been so far to many games where they have underachieved.
