Harrogate Railway 2 Bramham 0

by Unknown - 21:10 on 09 April 2011

Leach, Collins, Fisher, Whittaker, Stapleton, J Walton, T Walton, Christopher, Carter and Greensmith were all  missing from the Bramham squad as they made the trip to League leaders Harrogate Railway.

Kicking off the game with just 10 men, Bramham were joined by Simon Wright on the 15 minute mark as he dashed from the airport following a contenental trip to complete the compliment of 11 players.

The side was reduced to 10 once again just after the interval as Kendall was unable to continue having picked up a knock in the latter stages of the first half.

With limited options available Bramham dug in deep  with a gutsy performance and with the exception of a momentary lapse of concentration which allowed Rail an early lead they battled hard all afternoon.

On the 85 minute mark Pert broke away on the left and slotted home only to be adjudged offside to the dismay of those in line with the play. It was a cruel blow and a strike in the last minute finally sealed the points for Rail.

There were heroic displays all around for the beleagured visitors, with Hutchinson turning in an outstanding and commanding display in his make shift role as keeper. There was nothing makeshift about his performance which was reflected throughout the team lead by the tireless John Crawley who drove on his troops relentlessly, well supported by the resurgent Smith

A super effort on a hot afternoon against a good  side!
