As usual on Killinghall Moor the weather had the upper hand throughout this game which from start to finish was a pure lottery. A gale force wind swept down the pitch and underfoot the ball bobbled and bounced all afternoon. Spa were much more at home in these conditions and created several good chances in an awful first half. Bramham could easily have found themselves two or three goals down had it not been for keeper Lloyd, who turned in a sparkling display. The second half was little better although Bramham looked more threatening but it was not until the 75th minute that they grabbed the lead when Smith pounced on the ball and crashed a 20 yard left footer into the top corner of the net with the home keper rooted to the spot. This was a quality strike and far too good for this game, from that point on Bramham defended well and snuffed out threats as Spa looked for the equaliser. Lloyd was simply outstanding all afternoon and Alker worked tirelessly in midfield for a win, which was not pretty, but absolutely crucial as Bramham start to reel in Bedale at the top of the division.
