Former Bramham keeper Mark Tasker brought his Kirk Deighton team to Freely lane, where few gave them a hope of gaining a result, but on the back of a fine win against Pool they ran Bramham right to the wire and could easily have left with a point. Bramham played fine open flowing football throughout the first half, but a mixture of good fortune poor finishing and last gap defending kept Bramham at bay until injury time. Bramham were awarded a penalty for a clear handball on the line which Wright calmy converted, althought the one goal lead in no way reflected the home sides dominance. The second half started in similar fashion with Bramham pushing forward at every opportunity, creating and then missing good chances, time and again. Deighton gradually got more into the game and the writing was on the wall, as Bramham started to look disorganised defensively, Deighton seized the initiative and threatened to square the game. On 80 minutes the ineviatble occurred when following indecision in the Bramham defence, Deghton broke through and the game was level. Bramham rued the missed opportunities and with vital points sliping away, Alker created an opening in the box and fired home a winner on the stroke of time! Whilst Bramham were good value for the points, Deighton are a better orgnised unit than earlier in the season and on this display look capable of avoiding the drop.
