Bramham started this game confidentally and had the better of the early exchanges as the two sides probed for weaknesses. Bramham looked to have taken the lead on 15 minutes when Hughes braoke away and put Wright in who finished clinically but the goal was ruled offside.

5 minutes later however great work by Hughes and Dowson found Wright 10 yards from goal and he calmly slotted home for a deserved Bramham lead.

A surging run from Hudson down the right flank very nearly produced a second but Dalton weathered the storm and came more into the game, albeit they were resticted to long range efforts.

Just before the interval however they got a break when a long range effort was deflected and gave Lloyd no chance in the Bramham goal.

The second half started with Dalton having more of the play but they never looked like troubling a very effective and mobile Bramham back four, who coped easily with a string of attacks which the visitors mustered.

Bramham always looked to have the cutting edge and they were awaded a free kick on 65 minutes which Wright fizzed goalward from 25 yards out. The keeper failed to hold on and Carrier was there in a flash to force the ball home from close range.

The keeper was injured in the incident and was replaced in goal, as Dalton continued to provide stubborn resistance, but Dowson made the points safe with a fine solo goal 10 minutes from time.

This was a quality performance from a reshuffled Bramham team, with fine performances all round and in particular from the impressive Hudson, the combatative Bowden and the secure hands of Lloyd in goal. Matty Dodsworth also turned in one of his best performances for several weeks as he worked tirelessly, encouraged and motivated his team.
