Bowden came in for his first game of the season allowing Carrier to accompany Wright up front, with Tasker returning in goal.

The pitch was heavy and the game looked set for a rerun of last weeks clash between the two teams, with Otley fancying their chances of turning Bramham over after earning a point at Freely Lane 7 days ago.

In reality Bramham were never in danger of losing this game and grabbed it by the scruff of the neck from the first whistle. They battled for every ball and never let Otley get a foothold in the match.

Smith opened the scoring on 21 minutes, wickedly curling the ball inside the near post direct from a corner, and the visitors were 3 goals up after 40  minutes as Alker and Wright both found the net. The presence of Bowden on forrays forward and the strength of Carrier were simply too much for the Otley defence to cope with and Bramham could easily have turned around 4 in front.

On a rare breakaway however Bowden was adjudged to have brought down an Otley striker and they scored from the spot on the stroke of halftime.

Bramham approached the second half cautiously, well aware that Otley are a side who will battle to the end, but there was committment all around the field and Bramham turned in a battling second half performance.

Not suprisingly, it was Jason Wright who put any prospect of an Otley recovery out of the question when he slotted home on 80 minutes.

Otley did pull one back, but the result was never in doubt.

John Carrier was simply outstanding all afternoon, his strength and ability to plough through the mud was typical of a solid Bramham display and they thoroughly deserved the points.
