Subs D Ewen, A Tasker. Bramham started this game brightly against the West Yorkshire Premier League Outfit. They were first in the tackle, dominant in midfield and carved up several openings before Wright deservedly put them in front on 9 minutes. The home side threatened to overrun their illustrious neighbours and squandered good chances to go two or three goals clear. Those misses were to prove very costly as the game progressed. On the break Aberford struck back when a low shot from 15 yards beat Tasker and nestled in the corner of the net. Bramham were back in front in no time with Wright scoring his second amid more missed chances. On the stroke of half time a hotly disputed free kick lead to an Aberford corner which was headed in unchallenged from 10 yards. This was rough justice on Bramham whose first half display showed how capable they would be in holding their own in the West Yorkshire league. The second half was a whole diferent ball game and Bramham never really got out of the blocks and quickly found themselves 4 - 2 down as they failed to deal with some quick breaks. The usually dependable Tasker was not his commanding self in the Bramham goal and Aberford ran out comfortable winners. This was a match in which the scoreline flattered the visitors but underlined the need to take chances and remain solid at the back. For much of the afternoon Bramham played the better football but were found wanting in key areas with too few players able to raise their game in the closing stages. There were many bright spots though with John Carrier turning in another excellent display and Jason Wright revelling in leading the Aberford defence a merry dance for much of the afternoon.
