Bedale Town 2 Bramham 3Pateley Bridge 1 Bramham 1Bramham 3 Kirk Deighton 0Burley 0 Bramham 4Harrogate Railway 2 Bramham 0Index Bramham 2 Bedale Town 2by Unknown - 18:18 on 29 January 2011After more than two months without a fixture Bramham finally got back into action. It was however touch and go right up to kick off with the ground covered in frost and only 2 hours solid rolling broke up the surface sufficiently for referee Briggs to give the game the go ahead, It was no surprise that Bramham made a sluggish start and for the first 15 minutes Bedale had much of the play. The home side gradually got into their stride and opened the scoring on 30 minutes when a Howgate free fick bobbled in the six yard area and wa scrambled home with a Bedale defender inadvertently having the final touch ( unless any of the lads have a better claim!!!). Bedale were level on the 40 minute mark with a slick move down their right flank, but Bramham could count themselves unlucky not to have the lead in view of the chances that came their way as the teams turned around at half time. Bramham had the better of the second half and went ahead when Howgate coolly slotted home after good work on the left. The lead was short lived as Bedale got back on terms slipping the the offside trap on the hour mark. There were good chances for both sides to secure the points, with Bramham having the balance of these but they were unable to convert and the game ended all square. Both sides looked quality outfits on the day and battled hard on a difficult surface The game mirrored many of those played between the two teams over recent years, highly competetive but with a good deal of mutual respect. From Bramhams perspective the lay off has allowed several players with long term injuries the time to recover and it was pleasing to see the new signings Suggitt, and Carter getting arun out, players that wiill undoubtedly be required in the hectic end of season run in. Good performances all round with Howgate and Crawley particularly catching the eye and a fine display from Leach in goal and left back Smith Add your comment Please note that whenever you submit something which may be publicly shown on a website you should take care not to make any statements which could be considered defamatory to any person or organisation. | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
