Bramham 3 Great Preston 1

by Unknown - 20:45 on 16 October 2010

Bramham secured their passage into the quarter final of the Barkston Ash Cup in a dour affair at Freely Lane. The ball was in the air much of the afternoon in a game littered with free kicks.

The home side never looked in danger of losing this game and Dave Whittaker gave them a deserved lead at the break heading into the roof of the net following a well taken corner from Gavin Evans.

Chris Pert was influential in much of the brighter patches of play  and when Stapleton was pulled down in the box he confidentally slotted home the spot kick and it appeared Bramham were home and hosed.

The visitors grabbed a goal  back following sloppy play at the back, but Jack Crawley came off the bench in the closing stages to convert a cross from the left and see Bramham safely home.

Jordan Claxton-Ruddock was often a lone forager for Bramham but he showed some nice touches and held up play well. Jo Collins once again put in a tireless shift as he was shunted around several positions during the afternoon.

An accomplished and clinical victory
