Otley Rovers 1 Bramham 2

by Unknown - 15:40 on 12 September 2010

Bramham welcomed new signings Danny Greensmith and Dave Whittaker as once again they were forced to shuffle the pack with several players absent through work, injury or holiday. Nigel Hutchinson took the captains armband and quickly formed a good understanding with Whittaker at the heart of the defence.

This was a hard fought affair with most of the action in the middle of the park. Chances were rare for either team, but Bramham forced the deadlock on the half hour mark when Kenan Bailey drove unchallenged down the middle and unleashed a shot which resulted in the Otley defender slamming the ball into his own net from 15 yards.

Otley were level  when the ball bounced bobbled and then finally stuck in the mud which had threatened the match taking place. The home sides forward was quickest to react and knock in from close range.

The vistors re established the lead before the break following a fine header from Whittaker from an Evans corner.

Greensmith had made his mark  on this game, providing strength and determination in the middle of the Park on a day when Bramham never really played well but deservedly took the points with some solid work throughout a goaless second half
