Bramham 1 Otley Town 1

by Unknown - 21:32 on 04 September 2010

Otley's 100% start to the season finally came to an end today against a Bramham side once again short of several key players.

The vistors were a much improved side from last season, well organised defensively as they set their stall out not to lose this game and to threaten on the break.

This was a game plan they followed all afternoon, which frustrated the home side especially in the first half. During this period Bramham had long periods of possession and played some good football up to their opponents penalty area, but were never able to inflict the killer blow.

Otley broke away on the half hour mark and took the lead through a well struck shot from 20 yards.

In the second half Bramham once again dominated much of the play and on 75 minutes Stapleton grabbed the equaliser following good work at the near post by Nathan Christopher.

In the closing stages Tesfa Walton and Stapleton again went close, but Otley held firm to maintain thier unbeaten record.

There were excellent displays from Chris Pert and the tireless John Crawley and Kenan Bailey and the dependable Nigel Hutchinson once again solid at the heart of the defence.
