Bramham 3 Pateley Bridge 2

by Unknown - 18:22 on 24 April 2010

James Burton returned at left back in the only chnage to the team from Bramhams' home win against Kirk Deighton in Mid Week.

Bramham started brightly without creating any clear cut chances until Jason Wright was through on goal afer 25 minutes and was bundled to the floor in the area for a stonewall penalty, which he duly converted.

Ten minutes later and the prolific striker netted again from close range following a corner and at this point Bramham were well in control.

As the sides turned around the third goal in this game was always going to be crucial and it was the visitors who grabbed it follwoing indecision in te Bramham area.

Pateley grew in confidence and for long spells dominated the game and it was no suprise when they levelled on 70 minutes and looked the more likely winners.

Bramham digged deep and sent on Joe Collins who latched on to a fine cross from Stapleton and slotted the ball home from close range in the dying minutes, to send Bramham into next weeks final.

The opponents  will be Thirsk who had a narrow 2-1 win over their local rivals Bedale Town. Thirsk will be hot favourites to add the League cup to the North Riding County Cup  having already beaten Bramham twice this season.

Best of luck in the final - it would be terrific for the whole league if you could win it .
