Burley 1 Bramham 2

by Unknown - 17:43 on 10 April 2010

Work committments, and injuries forced several changes in the Bramham Line up with Anthony Maltby making a return in goal and Nigel Hutchinson accompanying Simon Wright at the heart of the defence.

The surface at Burley is not the best in the League but despite their absentees and conditions underfoot, Bramham started brightly, carving out several good chances in the opening minutes. Burley rarely ventured into the Bramham half and the biggest shock of the opening phase was that Bramham were not out of sight as chances continue to come and go.

It was only a matter of time before they did take the lead when Chris Pert continuing in a rich vein of form put them ahead on 30 minutes.

Burley however made one raid on the Bramham goal and astonishingly the sides went in level at half time.

Bramham continued to press in the second half and a header from Linyard wasdeflected into the net to give them the lead on the hour mark.

Burley were never out of this game and they grew in confidence as the game progressed, but after the first half onslaught anything other than a Bramham victory would have been a travesty and they duly took the 3 points despite a hard fought last quarter.
