Harold Styans 2 Bramham 4

by Unknown - 19:57 on 13 March 2010

With Jonny Walton unavailable, Paul Smith took over in midfield with Andy Linyard returning and slotting in at left back, but Bramhams plans were thrown into disarray as Stapleton Brooks and Wright were all held up in traffic. Wright made the kick off but Bramham took the field with10 men and started where they had left off last week, taking the game to the opposition.

It was no surprise then that they took the lead on 8 minutes, with Smith firing home from close range. Stapleton made up Bramhams compliment after 15  minutes and was immediately in the action crossing for Jason Wright to fire the visitors 2 up.

More chances came Bramhams way, but a combination of bad luck and good goalkeeping kept them at bay and it was against the run of play that the home side grabbed a goal back from a free kick headed home unchallenged from close range. A poor goal for the vistors to concede.

After the interval it was Bramham who again dominated much of the play driven on by the impressive Crawley who has added much need steel at the heart of the Bramham midfield. He was well supported by Smith and Evans who was a growing influence on the game.

It was a shock when Styans equalised on the hour mark from a throw in deep in their own half the ball  was pumped forward for their striker to hit a sweet shot from 20 yards.

Bramham continued to create chances only to be thwarted  by some good keeping, but with Evans an increasing threat down the left flank and Stapleton on the right it was only a matter of time before Jason Wright put the the game to bed with two fine goals to complete his hat trick.
