Bramham 6 Burley 2

by Unknown - 18:02 on 06 March 2010

Phil Zealand returned in goal and Jonny Walton took over a central midfield role alongside John Crawley. Barry Dodsworth slotted in at Right back with James Burton and Matty Dodsworth having places on the bench.

Bramham started strongly with good flowing football and it was no suprise to see them take an early lead when Crawley fired from 20 yards leaving the keeper scrambling desperatley on the line  and failing to keep the effort out.

The homeside dominated most of the opening period and Stapleton had them two up on 20  minutes following excellent work by Barry Dodsworth, breaking on the counter attack.

A two nil lead at half time didn't reflect the homesides dominance against a team playng a high defensive line and getting the better of some marginal offside calls.

Immediately after the restart Jason and Simon Wright both added goals as Bramham continue to create openings at will.

Burley kept battling and grabbed a goal back on the hour mark but they were then pegged bag again as Bramham responded with a superb header from the impressive Crawley, latching on to a perfect cross from Walton.

Burley responded with a second before the prolific Jason Wright completed the scoring for the homeside.

Crawley and Walton  looked solid at the heart of the Bramham midfield, breaking down their opponents threats and setting up openings all afternoon and Dodsworth was a revelation in his role at Right back, solid when defending and a genuine threat when he surged forward.

Simon Wright and Steve Davis were rarely trouble and the versatile Smith had another fine game
