Harold Styans 0 Bramham 2

by Unknown - 10:58 on 24 January 2010

After the enforced 5 week break it was good to get some football on, but even this game had to be switched to Tadcaster Magnets as the Harold Styans pitch was waterlogged.

Two teams were badly in need of some football and there were some tired legs at the end of a close encounter.

Bramham had the better of the early exchanges but failed to take chances and it was Styans who dominated the latter part of the first half. It was then a little against the run of play when the ever dangerous Jason Wright latched on to a ball in the penalty area, rounded the keeper and give Bramham the lead at half time.

There was little between the two sides in the second half but some good saves by Zealand in the Bramham goal made sure of a clean sheet. Bramham always looked likely to grab more goals themselves but it wasnt until the closing stages that they sealed the result with the tireless Stapleton darting in to finish from close range after good work from Jason Wright and Paul Smith.

This was a good test for both teams after the long lay off with Bramhams ability to take their chances the deciding factor.
