Bramham 2 Bedale Town 2

by Unknown - 18:57 on 24 October 2009

Bramham continiue to strengthen their squad and following his signature a couple of weeks ago Phil Zealand made his debut in goals and Jonny Walton, Joe Collins and Dave Malkinson all returned to the side. The influentialStapleton and Kitchen were however both absent.

There was little to choose between the two sides in the opening 20 minutes but Bedale took the lead with a well taken free kick bent round the wall.

Bramham were level on the half hour mark when Jason Wright was brought down in the box and converted the spot kick, but fell behing again before the break following a raid down the left flank.

There was clear contrast of styles with Bedale making good use of the long ball, whilst Bramham had struggled to make an impact with their passing game against a physically well equipped side,

As the second half progressed Bramham began to get a grip on the game and drew level on 75 minutes with Steve Davis firing home from close range after a corner kick which the visitors desperately tried to scramble away.

The closing stages saw Bramham force a series of corners but Bedale  stood firm for  a share of the points which on balance ws a fair reflection of the game.

Zealand, Walton and Pert had particularyly fine games and Malkinson also figured strongly after a long lay off.
