It was 3 years since Bramham had locked horns with the Guisley outfit and nothing less than a tough tussle was expected. Guiseley did not dissapoint as they put up a spirited performance against their premier league hosts. The first 30 minutes was one way traffic as Bramham mounted wave after wave of attacks on the visitors goal only to be thwarted by a string of superb saves by the Guiseley keeper. Inevitably it was Jason Wright who broke the deadlock , cutting in from the left he slammed the ball home from 20 yards and that goal at half time was scant reward for Bramham dominance. On the hour mark, Wright added a second with another clinical finish but Guiseley as they have proved are not a team to lie down and they got an unexpected fothold back in the game after 70 minutes after a period of sustained pressure. The immaculate Pert had been in blistering form all afternoon with breathtaking football and he had Bramham 4-1 up with two high quality goals, before the visitors grabbed a consolation in the final minute. This was a fine dispaly by Bramham against a side sure to be joining them in the Premier League next season. There is a mix of high quality and grit in this emerging Bramham side with Walton once again solid at the heart of the defence and Davies a powerhouse in midfield mixed with the sheer quality of Wright and Pert as good as any combination at this level Add your comment Please note that whenever you submit something which may be publicly shown on a website you should take care not to make any statements which could be considered defamatory to any person or organisation. | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
