Garforth Rangers 1 Bramham 6

by Unknown - 21:53 on 19 September 2009

It is rare for Bramham to travel south on the A1 and Allerton Bywater is unchartered territory for many on the team. Garforth Rangers had switched the tie to this venue but on a difficult surface they were rarely a match for the visitors.

Bramham were ahead on 5 minutes when Stapleton broke away down the right and with a pinpoint cross found the head of Nathan Christopher who finished clinically. The visitors were two up on 20 minutes when Davies headed home a well taken free kick from Jason Wright.

Coasting along, Bramhams' play became sloppy and they were rightly punished when the homeside headed their only goal of the game on 35 minutes.

Bramham took stock at the interval, clearly the better side they had to make their superiority count and ensure they increased the tempo for the second half.

They were 3 -1 up on 55  minutes and progressively took the game away from Garforth as Jason Wright (2) Simon Wright and Andy Linyard all got on the score sheet for a comfortable win.

There were good second half performances  all around with Pert, Walton and Burton particularly impressive.

John Sumner made a brief appearance in his favoured central midfield role and  looked sharp with some quality touches.

Linyard looks a revelation this seson, driving  on from midfield, and much more controlled in attending to his defensive responsibilty with the irrepresible Steve Davies alongside.

Dodsworth and Collins were solid and it was good to see Andy Maxted  making some good forages down the right in the latter stages.
