Dalton 3 Bramham 2

by Niall Matheson - 19:20 on 09 September 2006

Bramham suffered their first league defeat of the season with a woeful display.

The game had been switched to Thirsk as Daltons own pitch was unavailable and whilst initially Bramham were pleased to hear of the change of venue, one look at the surface and the Bramham team were aware that they would be in for a difficult afternoon.

With no changing facilities available and a problem pitch, it was obvious from the start that Bramham were not up for this fixture and so it proved all afternoon.

Time and again Bramham were second best all over the field with the defence all at sea, mistiming tackles and out of position.

There were alarming gaps in midfield and whilst chances were created invariably these were squandered or thwarted  by some solid work in the home goal.

There were few bright spots to comment on for Bramham although Mark Tasker did again look assured in goal, Mark Hick and Barry Dodsworth tried to spark thing from midfield, other than that there were far too many underpar performances and a worrying lack of desire for Mick Wright and Paul Firth to ponder
