Bramham 4 Pannal 0

by Niall Matheson - 22:23 on 29 August 2006

Team

A Maltby,( M Tasker), A Linyard. B Booker, D Jacklyn, A Tasker, B Dodsworth, Oates, Hick, Firth, Hughes, Robinson, Smith

With M Tasker, Robinson and Hughes all caught up in traffic Bramham took the field with just 10 men for this 6.15 kick off. Despite their lack of personnel they started brightly with the defence well marshallled by Jacklyn with good support from Ben Booker.

It was good to see the return of Barry Dodsworth on the right flank and as usual Hick looked assured in midfield. Firth was a lone striker in the first 30 minutes and held the ball well under heavy pressure. It was however Andy Linyard who broke the deadlock on 16 minutes, bursting down the right wing and smashing the ball into the top corner from 12 yards out.

Hughes arrived to support Firth and then at the interval Tasker took over in goal from the versatile Maltby who switched to left back allowing Firth to leave the field for a well earned breather.

Bramham picked up the pace and the lively Hughes broke through to add a second on the hour and then smashed in his second goal of the evening with a low powerful drive to put Bramham 3 up as the game entered the last 20 minutes.

Robinson replaced Booker who had a fine game and in the closing stages Linyard once again foraged forward and as the ball bobbled around the visitors box, he took the initiative with  a fine finish from close range
