Kirk Deighton 3 Bramham 1

Having being held by Pannel at home last week Bramham made the short trip to Kirk Deighton, once again much fancied for a title challenge

Deighton were in front within three minutes when Bramham failed to clear a corner and Deighton were allowed to head in from close range.

There was little between the two team throughout much of the first half with Deighton having the lion’s share of the possession but Bramham always carrying a threat with Wright and Bowden giving the home side uncomfortable moments

Deighton were good value for the lead at the break but Bramham levelled immediately on the restart with a low drive from Bowden from ten yards out. The visitors gained  the initiative and for fifteen minutes were creating openings without any real guilt edge chances

Deighton went ahead on the hour mark and added a third twenty minutes from time. Their superior fitness was evident as the stroked the ball around but Bramham rallied and created three good chances in the closing stages but failed to convert any of them with the Deighton keeper in fine form.

A deserved win for Deighton but Bramham can take much from this game and as their fitness improves they should once again prove to be stubborn opposition for many more fancied teams in this league. Wright in particular looked much sharper and with his pedegree there is little doubt that he will be a handful for many defences
