Bramham 4 Bedale 2

by Unknown - 21:44 on 23 April 2008

Bramham gained revenge for a 5-0 drubbing at Bedale earlier in the season in a fine match with some spectacular goals at Freely Lane.

Bedale had the better of the opening stages and deservedly took the lead on 20 minutes when Bramham failed to clear and the ball was crashed home passed keeper Tasker from 25 yards.

That set the tempo for the evening and on 35 minutes Bramham were level when the tireless Milner hit a raking cross/ shot which nestled in the top corner.

Bramham were ahead before the break when Jacklyn hit a screaming drive which flew passed the Bedale keeper from 40 yards out.

Bedale dominated the opening minutes of the second half  and for much of the second period had the Lions share of possession. They levelled the match on 65 minutes when some poor defending provided an easy chance from close range

The game at that point could have gone either way but Bramham grabbed a third and Linyard returning from injury came off the bench to see his long range effort loop  over the keeper and give Bramham a 2 goal cushion with which to see out time.

As always a very competetive game between two old rivals, two teams that have added to the quality of this years Premier League and two  teams with a platform to build on next season.
